Meet Margo and Rita

Margo is a 40-something blond, mother of 3 living in the suburbs of Dallas, TX. Cocktails and beach bars are her favorite hobbies. For Margo, the perfect drink is made with Hornitos Reposado, Grand Marnier, fresh lime juice, and a little sugar, served on the rocks, no salt. I'd give you the "recipe", but there really isn't one - just pour and stir and taste until you're happy. You can always make a whole pitcher of them if you're having friends over, or don't want to be bothered again later with the mixing part. When Margo's feeling a little funky, she adds some fresh mango chunks or sliced strawberries to the glass. By the end of the evening, those little tequlia soaked chunks of fruit make life worth living.

As you can imagine, getting to a beach bar or a Mexican Cantina isn't always possible, so finding a place close to home has become a quest. Sometimes you're in the mood for a swanky evening cocktail with your uptown friends (try La Duni), or it might be the first warm sunny spring afternoon, and you skip work to have a few Swirls on the patio at Uncle Julio's on the tollway. Then there's the day you get your hair cut and colored, and you call your husband of 17 years to meet you for lunch at Chuy's on Mckinney. You're feeling exceptionally cute, and those frozen margaritas are just what you need to set the mood for some afternoon rekindling action.

Don't forget to call Rita to pick up the kids from carpool duty - you're gonna be a little late today. ; ) Speaking of Rita - she's your best margarita girlfriend. You know the one. We've all got lots of friends: one that always cooks for you when someone is sick, the one that remembers your birthday and shows up to everything you plan, one that listens and prays for you when you're having issues, the one you can count on to take your kids before you kill one of them, and the one you call when it's time for a margarita! Rita's also a suburban mother of 3, maybe a tad bit younger with luscious brown hair, a body perfected by daily yoga and a bubbly personality - but she's so sweet, you were able to look past all that and keep her as your friend. After all, Rita also LOVES margaritas. She understands their importance to your very survival. Rita's favorite cocktail is any frozen slushy thing made with tequila. Really - the girl just isn't too fussy about it. Of course she likes some more than others, but Rita is just so happy to be there and easy to please. She's also able to just have 1 or 2, so she's the perfect friend to drive you home! Admit it - you need Rita in your life too.
