Don Jose Antonio de Cuervo – A Spanish settler who the king of Spain gave Mexican land to in 1758 in order to cultivate the agave plant. He made the most famous tequila known worldwide Today it’s one of the oldest family-controlled spirit businesses in the world. The words written on the ribbon of every Jose Cuervo bottle are Abolengo, Prestigo, Tradicion, which means heritage, prestige, and tradition.
